Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG
Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG
Thanks to the geology, the southerly exposure, the altitude, and the particular climate that our vineyards enjoy, our Sagrantino grapes reach maturity reach in sugar, polyphenols, and tannins.
These factors help produce a ruby red wine with persistent aromas of plums, vanilla, and spices.
Soft deliberately, despite its more than 14.5% alcohol, it is also enjoyable after 10-15 years.
A superb accompaniment to flavourful pasta dishes, truffles, roast lamb, game, and pheasant.

The vineyard is located at 470 meters above sea level just 3 km from Montefalco, along the southern slope of a splendid ridge that, rising between Assisi and Spoleto, dominates the Umbrian Valley. This has always been the most suitable area of the entire municipal area for the cultivation of Sagrantino di Montefalco.
The company, founded in the early 1900s, has always included Sagrantino vineyards: our family has continued to preserve their traditions and winemaking techniques for decades, even when they had almost disappeared elsewhere.
We vinify in the family farmhouse only a very limited quantity of grapes, with traditional techniques and natural processes. The vineyards, about 9 hectares, are located near an archaeological area linked to the early medieval routes of the Flaminia and the Saracen troops of Frederick II.
Our wines come directly from the vineyards we have here in Montefalco, where we produce natural and unfiltered wines, in limited production (about 30,000 bottles/year).
In addition to the dry and passito Montefalco Sagrantino D.O.C.G, we produce the Rosso Galdino igt, the Grechetto igt.
The production of extra virgin olive oil is also historic: we keep secular plants of precious varieties such as Moraiolo, Leccino, Frantoio and the rare native variety San Felice, thus bottling an extra virgin olive oil, a blend of the 4 varieties and a monocultivar of "moraiolo".
